The 2008 – 2012 Ambunti – Dreikikir District
Development Plan is designed as the mandatory requirement under Section
33A 93) (d) of the Organic Law on Provincial and Local Levels Governments.
Section 33A (3) (d) requires that the Joint District Planning and Budget
Priorities Committee draw a five-year Development Plan to establish
annual funding estimates for the District. This five -year Development
Plan for the Ambunti – Dreikikir District effects decisions
for development in the district.
The plan will be a guiding tool in
making wise decisions for future developments for the people of the
Ambunti – Dreikikir District.
It is also a guide for the public servants, government and non-government
and the political leaders to be transparent, accountable and effective

the plan is vital for the development of the annual plan. It provides
basic information for allocation resources for each sector. At the
same time, it is important for monitoring and evaluating the implemented
programs and projects in the district

with formal and structured settings) are now pursing for change through
better planning. The forgoing rationale explains the importance of
recognizing and establishing basic services to meet the needs and aspirations
of the people of the Ambunti – Dreikikir
District.
This basic framework sets in place the key linkages. It paves
the way for new initiatives for developments to address issues. It
should motivate the people concerned to reach desired heights in achieving
the best results in empowering the district in furthering developments
through various projects.
If the planned projects for 2008 to 2012 if
successfully achieved, tangible developments would take place in the
Ambunti – Dreikikir
District. The people in the district would be able to afford basic
services as well as change their standards of living.
The
Ambunti – Dreikikir District with this
five-year Plan is hoping to change and attract various assistance from
both the Government and the non-government organizations. It is believed
that by 2012, there would be a greater change in the District.
